Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller Reaccreditation

Refresher training is undertaken to maintain accreditation with Main Roads WA every three years. On successful completion participants will receive a Main Roads WA Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) and Traffic Controller (TC) accreditation for three years.

Course duration and location .

  • One day
  • Arrival time is 07.15am / 07.30am commencement
  • Training will take place at Stark Training, 3 McCombe Road Bunbury in addition to the practical elements being carried in surrounding areas.

Prerequisites .
Prior to enrolling in this course, participants are required to:

  • Hold a current Main Roads WA Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller accreditation (BWTM & TC)
  • Hold a Statement of Attainment in
    RIIWHS302D Implement traffic management plan
    RIIWHS205D Control traffic with a stop slow bat
    RIICOM201D Communicate in the workplace
    RIIWHS201D Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
  • Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Hold (or previously held) an Australian Driver’s License
  • Evidence of being issued with a valid Worksafe WA Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (blue card) or Construction Induction (white Card)
  • Have evidence of active engagement in the industry within the previous twelve months such as work experience
  • Completed, participated in and signed a SWMS which has been used on a worksite by the applicant.
  • Completed, participated in and signed daily dairy of a worksite you have implemented including the TMP number, contractor and supervisor details. 
  • Have good English literacy, reading and numeracy skills and ability. You will be required to read and interpret traffic control diagrams, read work instruction, and write safety documentation
  • Have a reasonable level of physical fitness and health. Training will involve setting up and packing down of signs and devices, lifting equipment up to approximately 10kg, walking on uneven ground and require good concentration for a reasonable period.

  • Appropriate clothing and PPE – Hi vis shirt, long pants/trousers, steel cap boots, gloves, sun protection hat, water.

On The Day
Students are required to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time and must bring Drivers Licence, White Card and any relevant previous accreditation.
Tea and coffee facilities are available for morning and afternoon breaks.
Lunch is included – please advise of any dietary requirements at enrolment stage.

Total cost $350.00

The Construction Training Fund (CTF) provides funding support for training of eligible workers in the construction industry.  Courses must be delivered by qualified training personnel through private RTO’s.
